My main research interests include:

Physics of hospitals and healthcare systems

Patient flow modeling, capacity planning for inpatient and outpatient services, performance modeling of pneumatic tube systems, real time census prediction.

Environmental and ecological informatics

The last few years I’ve gotten interested in application of modeling and data analytics in the world of ecology and environmental science. I’m a total newb in the area (even took some undergrad biology courses to fill in the gaps of my engineering background) but really enjoy learning about the fascinating world of ecological systems.

Data warehousing and data science

Designing data warehouses for operational analyses, analysis of healthcare occupancy data, data preparation for analysis

Personnel scheduling

Tactical tour scheduling, integrating scheduling and staffing models
